Back and Blogging

Hey all you blog readers and subscribers! I haven't been able to post in awhile so let me catch up. The past few days a lot has happened in the world of Media & Tech.
Apple has not confirmed it but most experts are estimating that the big release for the Leopard operating system should be here by October 26th. We all know in the past the mac experts have tried to nail down dates but were wrong due to Apple. Let's all cross our fingers because everyone is waiting to see what Apple has done with their latest and greatest operating system.
Also the Apple iPhone was bricked last week. That essentially means that Apple sent out a update to all iPhone users that caused their iPhone to stop allowing third party application and it also stopped the use of other Networks. But hackers are already trying to break the new patch for anyone willing to try again. The good news is Apple is trying to control 3rd party applications now. They are allowing approved third party applications to be put on the iPhone. They have listed a bunch of sites on the official Apple website where you can get them.
I will soon be delivering vBlogs onto this site. In the near future I will be building a blog site thats not connected to blogger. Stay tuned for many large updates!

Edit Video Online with Jumpcut!

Last week I posted about a social website that I enjoy called Groovr. This week my website pick would have to be Jumpcut. Those of you who don't know what Jumpcut is let me briefly explain. Jumpcut is a web 2.0 site that is kinda like a very popular site called YouTube. One of the things that YouTube is lacking is a video editing feature. YouTube is basically just a site that displays already edited or raw digital footage. Jumpcut allows you to display your footage but it adds a free feature that usually would cost you no less than 70 bucks! You are able to edit the footage you upload! Jumpcut offers basic editing tools that allow you to do cuts, transitions, titles, and some minor level adjustments. You can even add music to your video! If you don't own video editing software or just want to do a quick edit and get it on the web then this is the website for you. I've found that this is an awesome tool even though it's still in the Beta stages. If you have a digital video camera then you need to check out Jumpcut.

Justin.TV The real way to LifeCast.

Have you been to Justin.tv lately? Justin.tv is a website that started off with a guy and his web cam. He started doing live feeds on his website so that everyone could watch his life 24/7. This is called a lifecast. It's similar to a vcast but it's not edited and it's not a "show". This is as real life as your going to get and it's all free!
Justin began to take his website to a new level after he saw the large amount of traffic that he was getting. Justin and his fellow website designers redesigned the website to allow other users to create their own "lifecast". Now you can apply to create you own .TV cast. Justin.tv currently has a handful of lifecasters and is accepting one lifecaster a day. Go to www.Justin.tv and check out all of the shows that are on the air as we speak.

Halo 3 Raving Reviews!

The game has finally been released! Last night people all across the United States waited in line to get their copy of one of the most anticipated games ever. If you don't know Halo 3 is the third game in the ever so popular Xbox Console Trilogy. This game is exclusive to the Xbox 360 so if you don't own one you can't play it. Let's get down and dirty and unwrap this box to see how the most anticipated game of the year actually plays.
The first thing you will notice when stepping into the world of Halo 3 is the more natural landscapes. You will find that their are a lot more wild landscapes rather than giant steel hallways. Bungie added some awesome features to the multiplayer aspect of the game. Everyone loves the energy swords. Bungie added a feature called the "clash". This will eliminate the 50/50 chance of death when two people attack each other with the sword. The clash knocks the two attackers back and slightly drains their shields creating a improved sword fight from previous Halo's. Halo 3 does seem to be lacking maps. Hopefully more maps will be available through download with the online features. Even though Halo 3 doesn't have a huge selection, you still get the quality you expect in the maps it does have. Each map is beautifully hand crafted with every detail placed perfectly. You are truly in a different world. Every single feature in each map can be altered such as the speed characters travel to the pull of gravity on the planet. You can customize your game play to the max! The campaign game play has some cool added features too. Can we say 4 player campaign! This is one of the coolest features I think they added to the campaign. I would give the campaign a 4/5 overall.

There is only one reason to own a Xbox 360 and thats for the coolest shooter game this year, Halo 3. Check it out.

Get Groovy on the Groovr Website!

Website: Groovr.com
Social Networking sites have truly taken over the Web 2.0 age of the internet. Whats a Social Networking Site? The ever so popular Myspace and Facebook are great examples. Just about any site thats based on getting together with friends or strangers on the web is defined as a Social Networking Site.
My top would have to be Groovr. If you really want to take being social to a new level take it to the Groovr level. Groovr is a young site that was created around the idea of telling people what you are doing, and where you are so that your friends can keep in touch. Groovr is also based on the idea of being very mobile. I can be headed to class and post my current status on the web from my text messaging phone. I can also post exactly where I am at ("Graphic Design Class"). You can post your favorite videos, and photos on your Groovr profile. Make sure you invite your friends so that they can receive your Status Posts whenever their is an update.
I'm a Groovr Freak! If you would like to join me on Groovr just go to www.groovr.com and sign up. It's free and it's a fun way to stay in touch with your friends.

Let the Unlocking Begin!

If you're fed up with using an iPhone on AT&T's network, you now can download software to unlock your Apple handset. One package, developed by iPhoneSimFree, is now available from resellers in the U.S., the Middle East, and Europe. It'll set you back $99. Once installed, though, the app allows you to use your iPhone with another carrier.

The world's hackers have been obsessed with unlocking the iPhone from the day it was released. In late August, teenager George Hotz and a team of hackers developed a hardware hack to unlock the phone. In contrast, the iPhoneSimFree product is a pure software solution, the group said on its Web site.

Tuesday night, however, the iPhone Dev Team announced it had developed a free alternative to iPhoneSimFree's product. But the procedure involves downloading several different software packages, executing commands from a shell, and following other instructions. "This unlock is not for everybody!" the team's Web page warned.

Unlock Your iPhone!

Do you love the iPhone but hate AT&T? Those days are soon to be over. Thanks to the hard work of many development teams the iPhone now has an open source SIM Unlock software hack! Thats right. If the only reason you didn't an iPhone was because you hated the service provider you can now go with the service of your choice. This is a software hack with means you don't have to crack open your brand new iPhone at the risk of causing internal damage to the hardware.
The iPhone Sim Unlock hack is still in the beta stages of it's development. The software has a graphical more user friendly interface. It looks like they are building it so you don't have to be a coder to be able to operate the program. The company that has developed the software goes by the name of HaRRo. Keep in mind that any software hacks such as this one will void your warranty. So if you plan on purchasing an iPhone in the future to use on a different service provider then AT&T make sure you don't waste money on the hardware warranty for the iPhone.
The Sim Unlock hack will most likely go for $20 - $55 dollars to download off the HaRRo site.
So now you are going to have your chance to purchase your iPhone and get the service provider you pick. If you are interested in the Sim Unlock hack for the iPhone keep checking back for updates on HaRRo's progress.

What's your favorite iPod?

Everyone is excited about the newest iPod's that were just announced this week. So what do you think about these new creations from apple? We all have some questions about why they designed the new iPods this way and we are all excited about the new iPod Touch. Today I want to discuss what I think about each of these new iPods and what I hope to see in the future.

iPod Shuffle - You are a wonderful creation for all of the budget friendly consumers who want to be apart of the iPod world but can't afford the best. Small compact and a great piece of technology to take with you if you don't have a large music library. You are so tiny that you can clip right on a belt and stay out of the way. I like you iPod shuffle but you are just too small for me and I like to know what im listening too when I select it.

iPod Nano- Wow iPod Nano you have really changed! You are now in color! I can play all my movies on you because you allow for video now. I wish you were a little bit bigger even though I can get you in 8gb sizes now. You seem to have gained alot of weight. Even though you are thin like a chip you are still wide. I don't really like your style. You now have color, video playability and you can hold more. Ipod Nano I think you are really starting to grow up. You are a great price with alot of cool features.

iPod Classic- Your still great! Keep being you. You still are very sleek and stylish. I love how I can get you in 16ogb sizes. You can carry all my cool videos, music and photos. You are alot faster than you used to be. Your price still matches your quality although your brother iPod Touch is cramping your style.

iPod Touch- So you are the new guy in town. You think your so cool with all your nifty tricks. You have WiFi. One day you will be able to download music from iTunes without using a computer. Your so stylish with the way you can flip through your album covers. Actually I think you kinda look like an iPhone. You can only be 16gb's. Im sorry your brother iPod Classic holds 160gb for only 50 bucks more. Since you cost 299.00 why don't I spend an extra 100.00 and get a phone also? Your a strange iPod. I really hope you can fit in. iPod Classic performs better then you and the iPhone has more features than you? Goodluck iPod Touch but id rather get an iPhone.

Im so excited about the new iPods! What do you guys think?

What can we expect from the new generation of iPods?

Apple has released information on the new chip set that will be inside the Next Generation iPod that may premier in the near future. One of the Next Generation iPods that you can expect will be the new 5GB iPod. This iPod will give you 1GB more of storage than it's predecessor 4GB iPod Nano. What goes along with a new chip set? You guessed it, more speed. The Next Gen iPods will sync your music faster than ever. The chip will also a USB 2.0 host controller and transceiver. This will make the iPods compatible with almost all peripheral devices. You will be able to plug you iPod into your digital camera, download all the photo's off it and then plug it into you printer and print right off your iPod! The PP5022 chip will top the performance of any other media player in it's class currently on the market. I'm thinking with speeds like this they should put that chip in a mac mini. Even though you have all this increased power the Next Generation iPod will feature extended battery life due to it's better power management. I'm extremely excited about the new set of iPods keep checking back here for information updates on the Next Generation iPods.
